Briefly

Well is it officially Thursday. I have taken the next couple of days off from work. Not really sure why, I don’t have anything planned. I am off from school this week and I think I was just looking for some time off. I have been working oodles of OT the last month and will have another large amount (would have, had I not taken the time) this next week. Although I do not have anything going on it is nice to have the time off and not have to worry about anything.

Started reading Chronicles of Narnia. So far an interesting book, I have completed the first story and will start The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe sometime after I wake up.

Not much else going on. Talked to an old friend last night for sometime. It had been a while since we talked and hopefully it won’t be so long before we talk again.
I am off to bed now, I will have to chat some other time when I actually have some more stuff to say.

A change...

So.. while trying to finish this computer.. I started looking for new blog templates. I cam across this one. I kinda' like it. I might change the picture, but let me know what you think.

Hello boys and well primarily girls. Several days have passed yet again. Even though it has been so long there is very little for me to discuss.

I finally finished the class at Marion County, well almost, I go back on Friday to take the test. With that out of the way I can catch back up on my computer org. class. I took a make-up quiz last week and totally bombed it. I really am not impressed with my teacher.

I have gotten myself in to a little bit of trouble with several of you. I think jokingly in trouble but trouble none the less. It goes to show the differences in thought patterns between men and women. I am not going to go into details but I also pissed off my cuz the other day too. What killed me was the fact that she couldn’t remember the conversation that I made the comment in.. just that I made the comment. I hope she knows that I was joking with her.

My trainee seems to be doing well. I was going to take a couple days off this week since I am out of school. I have not decided 100 percent on that, I could use the OT, and I did kinda make a stink while in a meeting with Chief the other day about short notice on leave.

In the romance department not much activity as usual. I did meet someone that sparked a slight interest. Not sure if there was a return spark. She is one of Marion’s new hires. We talked last week about headsets and I offered to help her in finding a vendor (one we just used). Well I finally composed the email and sent it to her yesterday. I tried to leave the email casual and bordering on the professional side. I included an invite for lunch and if she needed anything further she could call. Well.. it would be just as easy for me to let you read the message.

Hi Kim,

Here is the information we talked about on the headset supplier. I have linked their general website as well as the headset I would recommend. I don't see why they wouldn't give you the government rate since this for your job. I would tell them that you are with the SO and just ask to pay with a credit card or something.

I hope class/training is going well. Saffron and I will be back next week to take the test with you guys.

If you should need anything else or would like to do lunch sometime give me a call. (352) 5xx-xxxx

Haven’t heard back from her yet, and I won’t be heart broke if I don’t. I am not even sure if she is ‘involved’ with anyone at this point. But, hey it was worth a shot right!

Well, I am going to finish fixing this computer and go to bed.

Untitled

I wondered how much longer I was going to get away with not updating. I thought the other day, wow, I am surprised I haven’t gotten a nasty gram telling me that someone actually does read this thing and demanding an update. Well it happened!

Isn’t life great. I haven’t stopped in the last two weeks!

I take that back, I did go the beach last weekend. I am still trying to recover from that adventure. School, work, then school for work! It is great I would really like to just take a week off. I get to train our new dispatcher, well I opened my mouth some time back and told chief it would be a good idea to send them to a larger agencies class room training so that they at least had a basic understanding before they sat in the chair. After a quick call to Marion county it was arranged. I also volunteered myself to go so that I knew what they were teaching her and could correct and modify it need be. So all this last week and all of next week I will be in this class and missing they one I am paying for at UF.

Speaking of the one I am paying for at UF, my teacher is very young and I think I told you guys that already... anyways, our first project is due on Monday. Well, I decided to do some looking around on the net and happened to come across the solution for the homework. This proves that the teacher isn’t that competent as a teacher yet, he used the same problem that was given to the same class at UF in the fall of 2003. A quick Google search revealed the solution! Now I have no plans on turning this in as my own work, I do plan on using it should I get stuck. My point is the solution to this damn thing is 19 pages long! Perhaps I should have started sooner than today! Granted some of that is debugging code and comments and not part of the actual solution but still 19 freaking pages! Perhaps it will rain all day tomorrow and the cops will leave me alone long enough so that I can get most of it done.

I have sooooo much I need to be doing and get done of the next couple of days that it isn’t even funny. I would stay up later and do some of this but I am getting very little sleep anyways.. and this getting up at 0600 SUCKS!

Ok, so this is more like a mini rant than an actual update but it will have to do.

I really don’t have anything fun and exciting to tell anyone about. Life is continuing. I gotta clean the comm. center. Maybe latter this week I can give you a more appropriate update.
